Fraga Cinema was designed in 1960 by the architect Félix Sáenz Marrero for the owner Sebastián Fraga Alonso. The plot where it was located was on the main Rosario road, opposite the “La Molinera” estate, near the Virgen de la Candelaria Sanitary Residence.

With a façade of horizontal lines, inside it was equipped with 700 seats, a projection length of 12.60 metres and a gigantic screen adapted for the Vista Vision and Cinemascope systems.

The cinema was inaugurated on 31 March 1962 with the biblical film “ The Story of Ruth ”.  It was Lent season.

Conceived as a high-quality neighbourhood cinema and after several renovations, the venue operated until well into the 1980s. The building remained standing until its demolition in 2007.
