Delta Cinema

This is the second cinema to open in the populous La Salud neighbourhood. The Delta Cinema, located slightly higher up than its predecessor, the Princesa Cinema, was designed by the architect Félix Sáenz Marrero for the entrepreneur Juan Delgado Dorta.

It was inaugurated in 1958 with a seating capacity of 520, one of the largest in the city. It featured an elongated façade facing the street.

For quite some time, until its disappearance, the Delta was a venue that hosted well-attended shows by the neighbourhood residents, functioning as a true engine of entertainment and culture. It was demolished to make way for a new residential building which houses a supermarket on its ground floor.
