Luvic Building

Family residence, apartments and the architectural studio of Luis Cabrera, author in 1960 of this interesting construction in the Vistabella area, built on a steep plot but with magnificent views over the city of Santa Cruz at that time.

The complex is organised through structural elements, both vertical and horizontal, resolved so naturally that the rest of the construction parts follow their patterns. 

The façade is characterised by the combination of different planes traversed by large windows and shutters that slide along external guides.

On the lower level, adapted to the terrain, we find what was the family home which had a large garden with a terrace onto which the bedrooms, living room and dining room opened. 

The Luvic house is a magnificent example of the best architecture carried out at the beginning of the 1960s in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It combines very interesting elements in its conception: exterior corner enclosures, garden terraces at different levels, independent garages, railings through which piping runs and other highly ingenious details. 

Today the building houses a residence for the elderly and has been extensively renovated with elements unrelated to the original work. 

As a curiosity, it should be noted that the building was called "Luvic" as this term corresponds to the union of the first letters of the first names of the couple who originally inhabited the building: Luis and Victoria.
