Sirinoque Building

This building with sinuous shapes was designed in 1971 by Emilio Machado Carrillo with the aim of occupying the plot left after the demolition of what was the Hotel Battenberg, of which only the splendid iron gate delimiting the current site remains.

The current building, completed in 1972, is composed of a series of striking cylinders that run along its entire façade, creating a very particular curious rhythm. The white painted renders reinforce the strong geometry, to which is added wood carpentry that fits suitably.

The interiors of the dwellings are subject to the exterior appearance of the building, naturally adapting to the different needs of the various rooms of each house; especially the windows and the bay terraces.

The sculptural structure of the building, the century-old gate that surrounds it and the vegetation it has, create a unique ensemble in the surroundings of the Barrio de los Hoteles and La Rambla.
