The Taomar building offers a rational, simple and open exterior appearance: the balconies and planters of wide horizontality stand out, forming continuous bands. A compositional rhythm is evident in which the aforementioned elements combine with the shutter boxes that symmetrically frame the openings. 

The building's plan is articulated through a central courtyard that distributes the different common spaces. The apartments offer a model now widely used, but which at that time was completely innovative: the duplex. Two floors with very well-utilised layouts, connected by an ingenious staircase. 

The Taomar building, completed in 1968 and located in the lower part of La Rambla in Santa Cruz, initiated the modernisation of rental architecture in the city, which had always been neglected in its design and quality. Now, through the play of volumes, the plastic integration of its design and an outstanding interior layout, this building presents itself as an architectural work of considerable quality.
