Bonnet Printing House

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Memory · Subcategory: Sites of memory · Year: 1834

Of all the printing houses that have existed in the Canary Islands, Bonnet is one of the oldest still operating today, if not the oldest. It was founded in 1834 by Vicente Bonnet Isern, the year in which the Official Bulletin began to be published there, promoted by the then civil governor José Berriz.

The founder's sons of this dynasty of printers independently established two new workshops in Santa Cruz in 1878 and 1882, located on Castillo and San Francisco streets.

Currently, with its workshops located on the outskirts of the city, Imprenta Bonnet continues to publish the official bulletins of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
