"La Amistad" Printing Press
Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Memory · Subcategory: Sites of memory · Year: 1840
We know that this establishment was already operating in 1840 at 15 San José Street, today Bethencourt Alfonso, corner with San Pedro Alcántara Street. Its owner was the poet Manuel Marrero, and the establishment shortly afterwards changed its name to the "El Teide" printing press.
It used good typographic types and developed a great activity mainly dedicated to the publication of literary works and newspapers ( El Noticioso de Canarias ), as well as cultural magazines such as the weekly La Aurora .
