This water mill is one of the few preserved within the urban core of Santa Cruz. Located in the heart of the Santos ravine, beneath the Ana Bautista sports pavilion, this cereal milling industrial complex is associated with the agricultural facet that this area maintained until not long ago.

It is a complex installation consisting of two complementary parts. On one hand, the channel or section of the atarjea built on semicircular arches made of thick masonry walls running parallel to the cliffs on the left bank of the ravine. On the other, there is the wheel pit, quite well preserved thanks to the hardness of the material it is made from, where the water drop occurred, whose driving force operated the blades or paddles that transmitted impulse to the waterwheel to move the grinding stone mechanism. Currently, the complex does not retain any of its machinery parts.

Next to the structure that still stands, there are other remains that were part of the mill, such as the channel with a lintelled arch link and a building in very poor condition, which was possibly the miller’s house.
