In a roundabout located in García Sanabria Park, between Casuarina Walk and the Rose Garden, the commemorative monument to Emilio Calzadilla Dogour (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1875-1916), a prominent lawyer and politician who was mayor of the city and highly appreciated by his fellow citizens, was erected in 1968. The bust had been made decades earlier by the sculptor Jesús María Perdigón Salazar and was located in Patriotism Square, very close to where the street that bears his name begins, although it was later decided to move it to the place it occupies today.
