Monument to Joaquín Amigó de Lara

This sculpture, made in 1986 by the Tenerife artist Eladio González de la Cruz, is located in a small front garden of the building housing the Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as a tribute to Joaquín Amigó de Lara, its founder and first president. 

Joaquín Amigó de Lara (Valladolid, 1907 - Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1996) besides founding the College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1941 and serving as its president for thirty years, was mayor of the capital of Tenerife throughout the 1960s, when the city remodelled its entire city centre.  

The sculpture, made of bronze, stands on a stone pedestal that holds three plaques reflecting the name and position of the honouree, the College's coat of arms and a tribute to the profession.
