Isidoro Cantero Andrada (Cáceres, 1904 – Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 2004) was a valued priest who carried out his work in Taganana and in the various hamlets of Anaga for more than six decades.

Don Isidoro, as he was known, was ordained priest on 10 June 1933. That same year, in his first and only post, he arrived as administrator to the parish of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves de Taganana. In 1941 he was appointed parish priest of the place, a role he performed tirelessly until 1995. During his long career he always attended with kindness and understanding to all the residents of this part, for many years isolated from Anaga, helping in whatever he could. In addition, he was honorary canon of the Holy Cathedral Church and Adopted Son and Gold Medal of the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The monument in his honour, located in the square of the church of Taganana, was made in 1995 by the sculptor from Santa Cruz Eladio de la Cruz. It is a bust made of bronze installed on an artificial stone pedestal where a legend about the honoured figure can be seen. 

The work was made possible thanks to a popular subscription carried out among the residents of Taborno, Afur, Casas de la Cumbre, Roque Negro and Taganana, places where the parish priest carried out his valued and heartfelt work.
