Mural on Santo Domingo Street
Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Art · Subcategory: Urban art · Year: 2007 · Authors: Diego Mena, Sfhir
On a wall enclosing a small plot at the beginning of Santo Domingo Street, one of the oldest in the city, we find this mural created in 2007 in collaboration between the Tenerife visual artist Diego Mena and the Madrid graffiti artist Sfhir.
Against a black background, red and white stand out, representing in very well-defined drawings the figures of a rose and a rooster, both created by Mena; and a tattooed pin-up, the work of Sfhir.
The mural presents itself as a successful exercise in raw hyperrealism as a vehicle for magnificent free expression.
