Mural at the Junction of Viera y Clavijo and San Clemente Streets

On a huge blind façade rising above a smaller building on the corner of the central streets of Viera y Clavijo and San Clemente, we find this mural by the artist from La Laguna, Carmen Cólogan.

Created in mid-2017 and arising within the project “Immerse Yourself in Santa Cruz”, a cultural initiative through which the Cepsa Foundation seeks to create an urban art route in the city, the piece depicts a huge and majestic indigo blue plantain tree rising along a wall more than 10 metres high.

It is a fragment that forms part of a pictorial work previously created by Carmen Cólogan herself and titled “ Bosque de Islarios ”. For its translation to mural format, the collaboration of the artist Ione Domínguez was enlisted, who had already created one of the interventions of "Immerse Yourself in Santa Cruz" in the El Toscal neighbourhood, specifically a mural located on Santiago street.
