After the acquisition by the military establishment of the Artillery Maestranza, there was an attempt to purchase the entire block to locate a major nerve centre for the branch, but only the adjacent plot could be acquired. On it, the Artillery Park and the brigadier's house were built in 1881. The complex was the work of Domingo Sicilia y González.

The main building, with a façade facing what was then the road to La Laguna, features walls of lime-rendered mortar with blue stonework in the mouldings of openings, plinths and cornices. Inside, the ground floor was arranged with large spaces supported by stone arches to house the armory. On the upper floor, a continuous nave was designed to accommodate the troops.

As for the brigadier's residence, located at the rear of the building, its configuration is that of a domestic work in the traditional Canarian style.
