Fumero Water Reservoir and Dam

Located on the slopes of the La Leña ravine, this hydraulic infrastructure was built at the beginning of the 20th century with the aim of irrigating the extensive estate, owned by the Fumero family, dedicated to banana cultivation that existed in that area.
Nearby there is another later-period reservoir with a capacity of 17,600 cubic metres of water from the nearby marine desalination plant at the fishing dock. From here the water is distributed to the Salamanca, Plaza de Toros and Las Mesetas reservoirs, as well as for the needs of the Port Authority.
