Villa Acacia

This recently restored detached house, located on La Rambla, was designed in 1922 by the architect Otilio Arroyo for the owner Ignacio González García. Known as Villa Acacia, the sumptuous building was completed around 1925.

It is a construction of marked eclectic style in which we can observe its two-storey height with pavilion. The architect emphasises the horizontality of the work through a cornice with some projection that separates the different floors. The ground floor starts from a plinth with pedestals that serve as a base for four Tuscan columns placed at the entrance. Openings with semicircular pediments on the ground floor, party wall balconies on the second floor with fluted pilasters, above which runs the parapet of the balconyed roof terrace. Mouldings, borders and friezes appear throughout the façade highlighting the different decorative elements by height.

Over the years, this spacious house housed the Italian consulate and later, after the Civil War, it became a maternity clinic (Nuestra Señora del Consuelo). After years of abandonment, Villa Acacia has been renovated both inside, outside and in the garden area, to house the headquarters of a prestigious international firm of luxury furniture, lighting and accessories.
