The promoter of this building, Bernardo de la Rosa, was enthusiastic about the Georgian houses of the southern United States after seeing a reproduction in which the columned porch seemed the most attractive feature. Thus, in 1922 he commissioned the architect Antonio Pintor to design something similar for his home, a chalet he wished to build in what was then called La Rambla XI de Febrero.

The architect designed an eclectic villa in which he juxtaposed an atrium with the usual columns but, instead of maintaining the giant order of southern houses, he preferred a more proportioned space in keeping with Mediterranean tradition. The floor plan offers an open space in its layout, highlighted by the impact produced by the location of the imperial staircase, emphasised by the stained glass window towards which it leads in its first flight. 

Today the building is part of the educational complex of La Pureza.
