House at 9 General Antequera Street

This single-family house was designed by the architect Antonio Pintor in April 1892 and completed the following year for the Sociedad de Edificaciones y Reformas Urbanas (SERU) as a prototype building to be erected in this area of the Barrio de los Hoteles. 

The construction maintains characteristics of restrained classicism, a style that Pintor would soon abandon to explore eclecticism. 

Here we have a two-storey building, square plan and symmetrical front façade with a central access door and side windows repeated vertically, topped with a cornice and straight parapet. The interior is organised through a hallway that leads to a three-flight staircase, also featuring a series of side rooms and a service area at the rear.

A striking central gate and a wall with trellis enclose the small front garden, which has a staircase for access.

The building has recently undergone extensive renovation.
