Casa y lagar de Báez

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Civil architecture · Year: S. XIX

Located on the road to Los Hoyos, a grapevine cultivation area, we find this magnificent building of traditional Canarian character, built at the beginning of the 19th century and intended for agricultural exploitation.

The building consists of a double-pitched volume for the winery, an "L" shaped house with four-sided tiled roofs, and a covered space for the wine press, next to the inner courtyard forming a unit with the house. The larger openings are framed in stonework, the material used to build the octagonal pillar that supports the closure of the wine press.
