Hotel Orotava

The Hotel Orotava was one of the most important hotel establishments in the city of Santa Cruz. Located since 1904 at number 1 Plaza de La Candelaria, on the site where the old Fonda Panasco (one of the oldest in the city) previously stood, in the early 1920s it occupied a new eclectic-style building on the same site. 

It was an important lodging centre for travellers disembarking at the nearby port. It apparently did not have great luxuries but was highly recommended for its excellent location, comfort and good service. The Hotel Orotava was demolished in the early 1970s to make way for the current Olympo building.
