Las Palmas Printing House

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria · Category: Memory · Subcategory: Memory spaces · Year: 1840

This printing house was established in 1840 at 15 Canónigos Street (today López Botas) and was initially managed by Mariano Collina, and later by Juan Ortega, moving from that moment to number 12 Espíritu Santo Street.

After Collina's departure, the company lost skill in its work and was then characterised by prints with type that was too small.

This printing house remained active until 1850, so its duration was no more than ten years. It was the only business of this type that existed in the city during that period.
