Mariano Collina Printing House

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria · Category: Memory · Subcategory: Memory spaces · Year: 1850

After separating from his partner with whom he had founded the second printing house in the city, Mariano Collina set up on his own from 1850, founding one of the most important printing workshops that Las Palmas had.

The printing house was first located at 3 Carnicería Street; then it moved to number 3 Armas Street, and finally, from 1861, it was established at number 9 of the same street.

Mariano Collina is supposed to have been of Italian descent and seems to have known his trade quite well, as the works produced by his printing house were always of very good quality.
