This publishing company was established in Las Palmas in 1876 during the early years of the Bourbon Restoration. It was first located on Calle de Terrero, in the heart of the Triana neighbourhood, and from 1881 it was located at Peregrina number 16.

From that year the printing house published La Correspondencia de Canarias: periódico de intereses generales, noticias y comercial , founded by Juan de Quesada y Déniz, the mouthpiece of the island's conservative party. This publication sought to embody a political faction that would alternate power with Fernando de León y Castillo, but constant disagreements between Pedro Bravo de Laguna and Juan de León y Castillo prevented this.
