Felícitas Rodríguez Maldonado House

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Civil architecture · Year: 1932 · Authors: José Blasco Robles

Rationalist style house designed by José Blasco in 1931 at the corner of La Rambla and José Naveiras street, in which the architect demonstrates his enormous capacity to build something truly "modern" in the Santa Cruz of that time.

The technician was concerned with the orientation of the different spaces to achieve optimal environmental conditions, configuring a garden as a complementary filter to the ground floor and a deep terrace on the upper floor to moderate the possible rigours of its east-facing orientation.

The meticulousness in design, the attention to detail in finishes and the use of some industrial elements (metal carpentry, folding shutters, iron tubes in the railings, etc.) are elements that appear very well combined and with their own personality.
