Casa Zamorano Benítez

Built on the corner of Calle Viera y Clavijo with Sabino Berthelot, this three-storey building was designed in 1901 by the technician Federico Solé for the tobacco industrialist Ignacio Zamorano Benítez as a warehouse and residences.

On the façade we observe on the ground floor lintelled openings all closed by large doors. Above the plinth, the wall surface imitates a type of assembly with a completely regular form (isodomic ashlar), altered above the lintels by figured voussoirs.

The openings on the upper floor take a depressed rectilinear shape with a false polygonal dripstone above decorated with schematic scroll and leaf motifs. 

For years, on the ground floor of the building there was a business whose sign with its name was composed of letters in a modernist style that perfectly matched the appearance of the entire construction.
