In 1935, Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre made his first sketch of what was to be the future Casa del Turismo. In 1944 building was carried out under the watchful eye of his brother, Miguel. Together with the Pueblo Canario, the Casa Fataga and Hotel Santa Catalina, it became part of the so called neo-Canarian architectural style in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This building is included in the city's Architectural Heritage Catalogue.

It is currently the headquarters for the tourist information office.
