This building housing two dwellings was designed by Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre in August 1933 for the owners Luis Ley Wood and Ángel Lenton. The plot where it was to be built was located on the edge of what at that time was the road from Las Palmas to the Port of La Luz, next to Las Alcaravaneras beach.

The construction was determined by its spectacular location: its beautiful views of the bay and the lovely silhouette that, from there and at that time, was seen over the group of volcanoes of La Isleta. 

Inspired by the works of Hans Scharoun, Joseph Frank and Adolph Rading, whom Miguel Martín knew perfectly from specialised periodical publications (special 1928 issue of the French magazine L'architecture vivant), the building mainly stands out for the large glazing that favours the views, the continuous terraces, the cornices and the eaves, which accentuate its horizontality.
