A relevant work within the catalogue of rationalist typology constructions in the Islands. It was designed in 1935 by Miguel Martín Fernández de la Torre for the owner José J. Naranjo Naranjo, and in it we already observe a certain maturity and skill in handling the language of modern architecture by the Gran Canarian technician.  

The building, located in Ciudad Jardín, is a composition of marked cubic character with a flat roof, gardened rooftop, large cantilevered terraces and regular openings. The whole ensemble presents itself with an evident sense of horizontality.  

Here Miguel Martín follows in the footsteps of the great masters of avant-garde architecture. We observe, on the exterior, the predominance of straight lines, the absence of any kind of ornament, the development of open areas and balconies. Inside, an expansive and functional floor plan dominates the entire space.

Casa Naranjo is one of the best examples of rationalist architecture being built in those years in the capital of Gran Canaria.
