The Néstor Museum

The Néstor Museum is a picture gallery that conserves and exhibits to the public the greater part of the works of Gran Canarian artist Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre. It is located within the grounds of the Pueblo Canario, a set of buildings conceived by Néstor himself and planned and built by his brother Miguel. It was inaugurated on 18th July 1956, 18 years following the premature death of the artist, with the help of the Town Hall, funds raised by private individuals and the donation of works by the artist's brothers. The building has eleven exhibition halls that house his permanent collection together with temporary ones, along with a documentation centre, a shop, and a pedagogical department.
