Pharmaceutical Centre

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Industrial architecture · Year: 1934 · Authors: José Blasco Robles

Located between Pérez de Rozas and Juan Pablo II streets (formerly 18 de Julio), this interesting building was designed by architect José Blasco in 1934 for the Colegio de Farmacéuticos (Pharmacists' Association) as a warehouse and social headquarters.

Notable on its exterior are the flat façades traversed by bands of windows. Inside, it had an interesting mezzanine solution that connected the offices with the storage area intended for medicines. In addition, the floor of this level was made of glass blocks, placed there to illuminate the ground floor from above.

Currently, the building houses functions different from its original use.
