The Benito Pérez Armas secondary school, located in the Los Gladiolos neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, has on its exterior wall a huge mural arising from the "Sumérgete en Santa Cruz" project, an initiative promoted by the company Cepsa in its work to beautify walls and façades lacking artistic qualities through urban art.
The intervention for the exterior of the school was carried out in April 2017 under the design of the muralist Iker Muro, who developed it from ideas and sketches contributed by the students of plastic arts and artistic drawing at the centre, inspired by the aesthetics of Roy Lichtenstein, a key figure of pop art. The work is divided into panels that depict small school stories, all related to adolescence. The mural, 55 metres long and 6 metres high, covers an area of 330 square metres and has completely transformed the appearance of the street where the educational centre is located, whose exterior walls have become an aesthetic reference in the area.
