Mural on Pi y Margall Street
Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Art · Subcategory: Urban art · Year: 2014 · Authors: Iker Muro
This work was created in 2014 by the artist Iker Muro on the central Pi y Margall Street, at the corner with Suárez Guerra. It is part of the ambitious project "Dive into Santa Cruz", promoted by the company Cepsa, in its effort to contribute to beautifying the city by improving spaces and walls lacking aesthetic value, aiming to add value and cultural interest for the enjoyment of citizens and visitors.
Iker Muro designed for this huge wall located in a central urban area a large-format work inspired by graphic design, art deco, and retro futurism. The wide collage of diverse elements is influenced by an aesthetic focused on the graphic in the elaboration of the drawings and contains reminiscences of other murals the artist saw on a trip to the city of Miami.
