Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Art · Subcategory: Urban art · Year: 2018 · Authors: Diego Izquierdo
This urban artistic intervention was sponsored by the Fundación Cepsa within its project "Immerse Yourself in Santa Cruz", which seeks to provide artistic and cultural content to neglected or aesthetically lacking party walls in the capital of Tenerife.
The mural was created in the summer of 2018 by the Tenerife artist Diego Izquierdo, who defines himself as a pop photorealist artist.
The work shows, on a surface of about 200 square metres, a classic vehicle refuelling at some petrol pumps. The author's intention in this work was to show an everyday image from the 1950s, in whose lines the spatial features present in the automotive design of the time are reflected. He used seven colours for its creation, highlighting a scale of greys in the main scene, on a white, blue and brown background.
