The new square in the Cuesta Piedra neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, built on the site formerly occupied by the original houses of the neighbourhood, features an exclusive decorative mural that presides over the surroundings of this public space.

Titled Colours of the environment and their deformations, it was created in 2017 by Sabotaje al Montaje, the artistic name of the Lanzarote creator Matedas Mata.

Made with spray paint, it is a composition based on abstraction inspired by the chromatic tones surrounding the square. The artist completed this 18-metre-long mural in just four days, attempting to capture the personality of the neighbourhood.
