Rodríguez López House-Clinic

The clinic and home of the doctor Adalberto Rodríguez López was designed by the architect Domingo Pisaca in 1930, in an area that at the time, after the inauguration of the Galcerán bridge, became the new urban expansion of the city.   

Of eclectic typology, the building originally had two floors and the architect resolved the chamfered corner with an interesting curved space on the upper floor. The rest of the façade was composed through an orderly concept in the placement of the openings.

Inside, on the ground floor was the doctor's family home, occupying the main part and the bedrooms on the façades; the service area was located towards the interior, with access to a large garden. On the upper floor was the clinic, with specific spaces for the function to be performed. In the rounded part of the chamfer was the operating room, with two other rooms intended for X-rays and sterilisation.

The building has undergone numerous modifications over the years. The house-clinic later gave way to a girls' school and currently houses a residence for the elderly.
