Casa Caulfield

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Civil architecture · Year: 1926 · Authors: Domingo Pisaca Burgada

This house located on the Rambla was the work of the architect Pisaca. He designed it as a family residence for Edmundo Caulfield Sanz. It was planned in 1925 and completed a year later. Its rich volumetry stands out, formed by different bodies assembled together, which provides a pleasant sense of movement. The exterior features exuberant decoration, with Art Nouveau solutions combined with French Neo-Baroque. The solution of the access staircase to the house is very interesting. The interior is covered, especially the noble area, with all kinds of adornments (cornices, skirting boards, panels, plasterwork and stained glass), made with materials of excellent quality.
