Chapel of the Servants of Mary

Located on Calle Viera y Clavijo, next to the Town Hall, this small chapel was built for the Congregation of the Servants of Mary in 1926, following the plans of the architect Domingo Pisaca. 

The building is conceived under the premises of historicist language. The façade uses a discreet repertoire model with a correct treatment, although quite impersonal. Inside, the space features semicircular diaphragm arches that support the roof structure and classical order pilasters. The ornamentation is carried out by means of a pictorial treatment of the romantic school.

For years this chapel was the place where the residents of the Barrio de los Hoteles practised their religious rites, as the neighbourhood did not have another Catholic place of worship, although there was an Anglican one located in the nearby Church of San Jorge.
