The Street Sculpture Interpretation Centre is a space dedicated to highlighting the invaluable sculptural heritage that Santa Cruz has in several of its most characteristic urban spaces. After the holding of two international sculpture exhibitions (1973 and 1994), in which the finest contemporary artists left their works in streets and parks, the city has become, almost without realising it, a large open-air museum and this Centre is its point of explanation and starting place.

The building housing this explanatory space was one of the new architectural elements erected in García Sanabria Park after its thorough renovation at the beginning of the 21st century. Located next to the Flower Clock, it is a modern structure made of concrete and covered with wooden slats. It was initially conceived as a place for the interpretation of sculptures, as well as a tourist information point, but after remaining closed for quite some time, it was finally inaugurated exclusively as the Street Sculpture Interpretation Centre at the end of February 2023. 

In this place the visitor can get an overall idea of the entire avant-garde sculptural programme that the city has and the close relationship it maintains with the recent architecture carried out in Santa Cruz. There are also a series of panels where all the sculptures that were part of the I and II exhibitions can be seen, as well as explanations of them, maps of the different sectors of the city where they are located, an explanatory video about urban life around these works of art, and a reading space where book exchanges take place.
