Caulfield Building

Building designed in 1937 by the architect José Enrique Marrero Regalado to occupy a large plot bordering Galcerán, Miraflores and Ramón y Cajal streets. The owner and developer was Edmundo Caulfield.

It was another of the buildings designed by Marrero for mixed use (commercial and housing), built on a corner and dominated by excellent chamfers. In this case, the last one made under these guidelines, it had numerous elements of interest: formal regularity, symmetrical distribution of openings, framing by quadrilaterals on the corners, colour texture on the façade, wooden shutters. All created a high-quality aesthetic effect.

Unfortunately, this building was demolished in 2024.
