García Feo Building

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Civil architecture · Year: 1947 · Authors: José Enrique Marrero Regalado

The project for this large-volume building located at the intersection of Avenida de Bélgica with Avenida Islas Canarias (formerly General Mora) was drawn up in 1947 by the architect José Enrique Marrero Regalado for the developer Casiano García Feo.

Framed within the regionalist aesthetic with neo-Baroque aspects, the building features an interesting chamfer with balconies separated by Solomonic columns, all topped by a four-sided turret covered with tiles.

Marrero would use this same solution for another building, with very similar characteristics, located at the junction of La Rambla with Avenida de San Sebastián, opposite Parque Viera y Clavijo, designed in 1951 for the developer José Padrón Afonso.
