Residential Building at 37 Avenida 25 de Julio

This four-storey building located in the upper part of Avenida 25 de Julio was designed by the architect José Enrique Marrero Regalado in 1947, as housing with commercial premises on the ground floor. 

Framed within the regionalist typology or neocanarian style, widely used in the islands after the end of the Civil War, Marrero mixes historicist elements (classical and baroque) with vernacular ones, as seen in the two lateral turrets with sash windows and mullioned parapets covered with tiles, the Canarian balconies; all combined with the baroque-style undulating cornice and the classicist doorway of the central section. Seven stone gargoyles appear at the top of the façade.
