Building of the former Provincial Health Delegation

This building was presumably erected in the early 1920s with the aim of housing the offices of the Provincial Health Delegation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. By style and form, we venture to affirm that the project came from the studio of architect Antonio Pintor.

Located in an area that at that time the City Council wanted to ennoble by placing some official buildings there, this Provincial Health Delegation is framed within the purest architectural eclecticism. 

The main façade consists of a symmetrical main body and an attached one set back. Four bays run along it, one of which stands out from the rest, as it is the entrance to the interior on the ground floor. A stained glass window on the upper floor and two pairs of columns per floor make up the rest of this main body, which is topped by the entity's coat of arms. 

Inside the ground floor, an entrance hall distributes the spaces which are identical on the upper floor, accessed by a staircase located at the right end of the building. 

A rear turret is attached to the building on its southeast flank, through which a staircase leads to the rooftop.

We must highlight outside the boundary wall on which a grille is erected and the access staircase that runs along the entire lower perimeter of the façade.  

Currently, this building houses the offices of the Provincial Directorate of the Social Security Treasury.
