Bridge of Igueste de San Andrés

Since 1896, the possibility of building a bridge to join the slopes of the lush ravine of Igueste de San Andrés, where a considerable population centre had already been established, began to be studied.

Five years later, in 1901, the municipal architect Antonio Pintor presented the final project. Shortly afterwards, the work was put out to public tender, being awarded to the contractor Gaspar Fernández for an amount of 4,914 pesetas.

The bridge, which was completed in 1903, is a modest construction made of masonry and mortar. It has a single arch or span and small walls that close its sides. 

Its functionality remains in force, as it continues to be a link between the different parts of the hamlet of Igueste.
