This work was presented by the Catalan artist Joan Miró (Barcelona, Spain, 1893-Palma de Mallorca, Spain, 1983) for the I International Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Made in 1972, Miró conceived it as a surreal work made in bronze from found objects, using a canister as the torso and a snail as the head. It is an expressive work that aims to configure a reality of oneiric origin.

This Woman , of suggestive and random beauty, was loaned by the Maeght gallery in Paris for its temporary location on the Rambla, very close to the sculptural building of the College of Architects. When it was time to return it, and at the behest of the Culture Commission, Miró agreed to replace this absence with the magnificent piece Femme Bouteille which is now exhibited on Las Asuncionistas Avenue in the capital of Tenerife.
