This was the contribution of Manolo Millares (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1926-Madrid, 1972) to the I International Exhibition of Sculpture in the Street held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife one year after his death. 

It is one of his burlap works where this time he portrays the anguish, deterioration and emptiness caused by wars, hence this title. With his abstract expressionism, the Canarian artist shows us in this piece a dramatic force that impresses the viewer. 

Object for Peace was loaned for its exhibition by Millares' widow, Elvireta Escobio. It was located inside the Colegio de Arquitectos de Canarias until its return.
