Arnaldo Pomodoro (Morciano di Romagna, Italy, 1926), Italian sculptor, costume designer and set designer, participated with this piece in the I International Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition , held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1973.

Cilindro Construito was made in bronze between 1968 and 1970. Its tall figure is represented by a spectacular bronze column showing the interior structure of its blocks in dramatic seismic shock.

Its vigorous and poetic presence, established in a magnificent balance, could be admired on the Rambla stretch of Avenida Reyes Católicos. The work was returned to the private gallery that had lent it for its temporary exhibition in Santa Cruz.
